First RARSUS Project Training Workshop on "Guidelines for Research Ethics and Standards"

The RARSUS project is an ongoing project in Niamey, Niger. Within the frame of the project, the first training workshop was held from the 11th to 15th June 2018 at Abdou Mounmouni University of Niamey (UAM). On behalf of the project consortium, the workshop was organized by the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) Bonn, Germany and the RARSUS team at Abdou Mounmouni University (UAM) of Niamey, Niger. The purpose of the workshop was to train young scientists on ethics and standards in conducting research. A mix of (guest) lectures, class discussions/exercises and case study were use to achieve the objective of the workshop. This event is part of the project activities.

The purpose of this training workshop is to introduce academics and practitioners on important research ethics and standard. The training workshop is a face-to-face sessions (F2F) that will be held at the Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey, Niger. Peer learning and networking amongst participant and other contributing experts will also constitute part of the activities. At the end of the workshop, participants will participate in a field trip to enable them to have first field experience and to understand the necessary precautions to take when interacting with the local population during a field research.

WAC-SRT Workshop at ISSER

The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) and the West African Centre for Sustainable Rural Transformation (WAC-SRT) Project has opened a two-week capacity-building workshop at the University of Ghana.

 Partners of the project are the Centre for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany; Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Abdou Moumouni (UAM), Niamey, Niger; Faculty of Planning and Land Management (FPLM), University for Development Studies (UDS), Wa and Tamale; ISSER and Faculty of Agribusiness and Communication Sciences (FACS), University of Ghana.

The workshop is being organised by ISSER and the University of Bonn, Germany. The purpose of the workshop is to equip participants with useable operational skills, and methods and techniques that are relevant to faculty and administrators in the areas of Academic Writing, E-Learning, Data Management and Poverty Assessment.
